We will meet at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Sanctuary’s Joseph P. Addabbo Memorial Bridge (also known as the North Channel Bridge). Please dress according to the weather and wear closed toe shoes. You may also wish to bring a bottle of water if the forecast is hot. Garbage bags, pickers, and gloves will be provided.
A light lunch will be served immediately after the cleanup.
Project Prithvi is Sadhana's grassroots green initiative through which we mobilize Hindus, especially youth, and local community members to live out the principle of ahimsa (non-violence) by taking care of the environment.
Directions to the North Channel Bridge:
Belt Parkway to Exit 17S, Crossbay Boulevard
There are parking lots on both sides of Joseph P. Addabbo Memorial Bridge (formerly known as North Channel Bridge). We will meet in the western parking lot at North Channel Beach, at the southern end of the Joseph P. Addabbo Memorial Bridge. Look for the brick gazebo structure! We will be signing volunteers in there! For those using GPS, NOTE: there is no formal address of the exact location (Jamaica Bay is actually a huge area) but the coordinates 40.638267, -73.831970 can be used.
