Dear *|FNAME|*,
For the past 10 years, we at Sadhana have been building a progressive Hindu movement centered in social justice through community transformation, advocacy, and seva (selfless service).
We've been recognized by the White House for our environmental justice work; featured in outlets like the New York Times for helping to establish the nation’s first sanctuary temple; and are often still the only Hindu voices in progressive interfaith movements like the Poor People’s Campaign.
There’s no other way to put this: Nobody else is doing what we’re doing.
This Giving Tuesday, can you make a donation to Sadhana to help build our progressive Hindu movement?

Here’s what we’ve been up to this year:
- In January, we started Sadhana Kids Samudaya, our progressive Hindu children’s classes, providing a safe space for children from diverse backgrounds, including multi-faith and LGBTQ+ households.
- In March, we kicked off our monthly Liberation Theology Reading Group, in which we explore questions about social justice, oppression and liberation through Hindu traditions and other faith traditions.
- In June, we re-launched Project Prithvi, our award-winning monthly beach clean-ups at Jamaica Bay.
- In August, we joined the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ #WeCanDoThis campaign to encourage our community members to get their Covid-19 vaccines.
Throughout the year, we spoke out on issues that mattered, from caste-based exploitation at Hindu temples in the U.S., to homophobic backlash against a Hindu priest in Toronto who conducted a same-sex wedding, to the New York Taxi Workers Association’s hunger strike to #EndCabbieDebt!
As a 100% volunteer-based organization, we’ve accomplished all of this only through supporters like you. This Giving Tuesday, can you help us take our work to the next level?
In 2022, we hope to hire our first Executive Director based in New York City. Please consider giving to Sadhana today to help us make this happen.

After a hiatus due to Covid-19, Sadhana's New York City chapter is re-launching our in-person Satsanghs! Sadhana Satsanghs are our monthly inclusive, egalitarian and earth-honoring worship gatherings. Our prayers, meditations, bhajans, pujas and discourses may be led by individuals of any race, caste, gender, sexual orientation, and age. We invite anyone and everyone to build a spiritual community with us!
Our Satsanghs will take place every second Tuesday from December 2021 to June 2022, at 6:30-8:00 pm ET. Our next Satsangh will be on Tuesday, December 14th at the First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn's chapel (119 Pierrepont St, Brooklyn, NY 11201). Hope you can join us!
