Join Sadhana and Muslims for Progressive Values' New York Chapter for our third annual interfaith iftar during the holy month of Ramadan! Although we are not able to do so in person this year, we will be coming together for an e-Iftar on Zoom.
Sadhana's Pandita-in-Residence, Pratima Kushridevi Doobay, will bring us together with a Hindu prayer, followed by Azaan and Maghrib prayer led by MPV. We will then break our fast and have a group discussion on how we can move beyond some of the misconceptions and tensions that exist between our communities today, and brainstorm new opportunities for dialogue and solidarity.
This event is open to our entire community, whether or not you are fasting or observing Ramadan this year. However, we do encourage our attendees to participate in one day of fasting, according to their own capacity. Fasting can be an opportunity for spiritual reflection, self-control, and a reminder of the challenges faced by those in need in our society.
This will be a beautiful interfaith event and opportunity for dialogue -- we hope you can join us!
