Sadhana Satsanghs are our monthly inclusive, egalitarian and earth-honoring worship gatherings. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Sadhana feels it is important to nurture both the spirit and the bodies of our members by performing weekly e-Satsanghs every Thursday via Zoom.
Hindus around the world revere a wide range of deities associated with healing: Dhanvantari, Shitala Devi, Arogya Lakshmi, and Shiva in the form of Vaidyanatha. In this Satsangh, we are partnering with the United Madrassi Association Inc. to honor the goddess Mariamman.
Sadhana's Pandita-in-Residence, Pratima Kushridevi Doobay, will bring us together with a puja to Mariamman Devi. Following the puja, Vijah Ramjattan (founder of UMA and Sadhana advisory board member) will give a presentation about the significance of Mariamman Devi in South India, among the Indo-Caribbean community, and around the world, focusing on themes of caste and healing. Afterwards, we will have a short discussion.
We hope you can join us!
